ice carving secrets: Gaylord Palms ICE! exhibit
ice carving secrets: Gaylord Palms ICE! exhibit
Just before Christmas, I was in Orlando and made a quick trip to the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Kissimmee. I’m working on a gallery of photos from my visit, but I thought a sneak peek might be in order. In the past, I’d seen the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan, but this was my first visit to the Palms. The sculptures are created by carvers from Harbin, China that the Gaylord properties bring over each year. The Harbin carvers make extensive use of colored ice. Unfortunately, the exhibits ended on January 2. To see them in person, you’ll have to wait till next year. For now, enjoy and keep an eye out for more photos...

Yes, it’s ALL ice! (except the earmuffs and possibly the eyes) This sign greeted visitors in the igloo entryway of the Gaylord Palms “ICE!” exhibit in Orlando.
