ice carving secrets: Gaylord Palms ICE! 2008 http://www.icecarvingsecrets.com/ics/ice_displays/Pages/Gaylord_Palms_2008.html Again in 2008, the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, FL (near Orlando) put on their impressive ICE! display. Three of the Gaylord Hotels bring in teams of carvers each year from Harbin, China to carve extensive and elaborate ice displays for the holidays. The Harbin carvers use a lot of colored ice and build large structures that visitors can walk through and that offer many photo opportunities. One room even features long slides for the kids (and adults acting like kids). Visitors are issued long parkas for the subzero temperatures. The other Gaylord hotels that put on their own ICE! displays are the the Gaylord Texan (Grapevine, TX) and the Gaylord Opryland (Nashville).
