ice carving secrets: Titanic Branson competition, 2008 & 2009

 

Since 2007, the Titanic attraction in Branson, MO has had an ice carving competition. In 2008 and 2009 at least, the event included pro and amateur competitions. The pros had two blocks of ice and four hours while the amateurs had one block of ice and three hours. Here are just a few photos of some of the pieces in 2008 and 2009. In case you’re curious, the 2nd place pro piece collapsed in the sun immediately after judging in 2009, so there’s no photo. Also, the lionfish piece was changed after judging and before the photo below, so the photo isn’t representative of how it looked during judging.
